Variable Frequency Drive Rider
This Rider is available in conjunction with either of the Cooperative’s Commercial Service schedules where the consumer has executed a written contract with the Cooperative for the Cooperative to install a Cooperative-owned Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) in order for the consumer to receive three-phase power. Service under this Rider shall be available in all territory served by the Cooperative where the Engineering Department of the Cooperative has determined that the load being served with the VFD will not create any deterioration of service quality to other consumers served by the Cooperative. Service under this Rider shall also be subject to the Cooperative's established Service Rules and Regulations as filed with the North Carolina Utilities Commission. The provisions of the Cooperative’s Commercial Service schedule with which this Rider is used are modified only as shown herein.
TYPE OF SERVICE
Service under this Rider shall be single-phase converted to three-phase through the installation of a Cooperative-owned VFD.
Consumers receiving service under this Rider shall pay the three-Phase Basic Facilities Charge of the Commercial Service schedule they are receiving service under plus the monthly charge below based upon the horsepower rating of the VFD. The Supplemental Monthly Basic Facilities Charge shown below will apply to the first five (5) years of receiving service under this Rider. After the first five (5) years the consumer shall pay the three-phase Basic Facilities Charge of the Commercial Service schedule they are being served under.

Consumers receiving service under this schedule shall be required to take service all year round and may not disconnect service for portions of the year to avoid paying the monthly Basic Facilities Charges.
The minimum contract term for receiving service under this Rider shall be ten (10) years. After the initial ten year term the consumer may disconnect service at any time after providing the Cooperative with a minimum 90 day written notice.
Any applicable State and local sales taxes will be added to all services billed under this
Rate schedules effective May 31, 2016
